The Church was founded under the ministry of Rev James Grant on 26th January 1891 and for the first two years, meetings were held in a variety of halls in Partick before an “Iron Kirk” was erected on the site of the present Church building in Stewartville Street.

By 1909, the Iron Kirk had outlived its usefulness as larger premises were required to accommodate the increased numbers attending the various meetings. The present Church building was completed and opened for business on 15th January 1910.

The Fellowship has been blessed over the years with many excellent and gifted ministries, but none was more significant than that of  Miss Vera M.M. Findlay whose ordination and induction to the charge in 1928 marked an historical event in the religious life of Scotland. In calling a woman to the pastorate, the Church had created a precedent, for Miss Findlay held the unique position of being the first woman to be ordained to the ministry in Scotland. In 1933 Miss Findlay married and became Mrs Kenmure.

In a sense, the history of the Church has come the full circle as our present minister is also a woman, Rev May-Kane Logan.
